Alternate Existence

Alternate Existence is a linear, story-driven adult visual novel for players who want a grounded drama with fantasy and sci-fi undertones. The tone leans serious, with the harem and romance elements built around a single central mystery rather than a lighthearted romp.

Story

A 22-year-old man with no memory of his parents and a childhood spent bouncing through foster homes is offered a way out of his bleak life by a stranger. The offer promises something better, but he cannot shake the feeling that there is a catch, and the game follows him as he tries to find out what that catch actually is.

Gameplay

Progress follows a fixed main story, with player choices shaping the protagonist's relationships with the women around him rather than altering the plot's direction. Along the way there are a small number of voyeurism scenes tied to two specific female characters; these can be skipped but not routed around entirely. Outside of that, the game moves through its episodes as a linear narrative with dating-sim style relationship beats layered on top.
